Marmoset and Tamarin enclosures
Some of the Marmoset enclosures still need to be extended. The exterior shade cloth (to protect against bees/snakes etc) still has to go up. Trees and other vegetation will be added once the irrigation is complete. The infra red heating must go in before winter.
Mona Monkey Enclosures

The wire for the outdoor area of the Mona's enclosure is going up. The indoor area (at the back) is also being extended so that the Mona monkeys can climb out of their indoor area straight into the tree. Many jungle gym's and trees still have to go into their outdoor area, which is 6 meters high. The photo above shows Shapken and Gingers outdoor area - an adjoining enclosure will be built for Papi (we will attempt to get him in with Ginger and Shapken again when he is a little more settled). Eventually the Mona monkeys will have cage tunnels through the trees on the outside of their enclosure which will enable the sociable monkeys to visit the sanctuary house.
Squirrel monkey enclosures
The infra red heating still needs to be installed before winter - plus the irrigation, which will water the many fruit trees still to be planted in their enclosure - and of course, more hammocks, swings etc.

Macaque enclosures
Work on the Macaque enclosures has not yet begun. They will be situated beside the Mona enclosures
Future Development
Once all the monkeys are comfortable, work will commence on our "Amazon Greenhouse". The Marmosets and Tamarins will be moved into 10 running meters x 10 running meter enclosures inside the greenhouse which will be designed to look like the Amazon. The Squirrel monkeys will have a similar separate greenhouse.

Want to help ???
We could probably use anything you have to offer in terms of building materials or services. Electrictians, plumbers and builders would be a huge help. If you live in the Gauteng area, perhaps you could pop over and join our cheerful team of volunteers in the construction of the enclosures - or bring along a fruit tree to plant for your favourite monkey.
